2022 was a rough year for so many what with Covid still not quite ended, and the world economy taking a hit – but so many were generous despite personal challenges and it was much appreciated.
We were able secure used guitar strings from European heavy metal band Saxon, guitarist Alex Skolnick from Testament, Canadian Country star Dallas Smith, Canadian Rockers The Trews and The Glorious Sons this year (along with residual strings from Sam Roberts Band, Tom Cochrane and Blackie & the Rodeo Kings) and jointly raised (with fans) $6395.00 !!
We sent the donated funds to World Vision Canada for Ukraine refugee relief, Humanitarian Coalition (Oxfam, World Vision, Plan International, Save the Children) for the devastating flood disaster in Pakistan, and the World Vision Gift Catalog where we were able to choose some very large impactful items.
We have high hopes for 2023 including more Dallas Smith strings, Papa Roach! (fingers crossed!) and working on another huge metal band that is finally coming to our town after being on our ‘wish list’ for over 10 yrs! (no names = we don’t want to jinx it 🙂 )
