After seeing American rockers Papa Roach in November 2025, where guitarist Jerry Horton and bassist Tobin Esperance donated their used strings to us, we had an email from their tour manager about a week later. The guys had saved and collected their strings from almost all of the remaining shows on the Canadian Rise of the Roach Tour after our show stop, and wanted to send them to us!
As of the end of January we’ve used about 1/2 of the donated strings thanks to fans and the band’s sharing of our Instagram posts – and it felt like a natural cut off point to take a breather and donate the $800.
We decided to try do as much for as many people as possible, and many of the items we chose from the World Vision Gift Catalog have a ‘x3’ or ‘x4’ number behind them. This means that that particular gift multiplies by 3 times, or 4 times the original donation amount, due to corporate matched donations. We were able to:
*Stock a medical clinic – $200
*Contribute to clean water – $200
*Mom and baby care x4 – $100
*Emergency food x7 – $100
*School meals x 7 – $150
*Women and girls in crisis fund x6 – $50
We wish to thank Jerry Horton, Tobin Esperance and Papa Roach, their mgmt and Tour manager, the kind fellow who made the trip to the post office to send the strings all the way from Halifax (the last tour stop) and ALL the fans who continue to make this possible to do. You’re the best.
