It started with the Papa Roach Rise of the Roach tour in Canada in November 2025 and guitarist Jerry Horton, bassist Tobin Esperance and drummer Tony Palermo donating strings and sticks, and the band autographing a photo of themselves holding comfort dolls (from 2019 show), for our charity auction here. We raised $1393 for Christmas meals, food security, and mental health through Union Gospel Mission Vancouver, World Vision Canada, and Loaves and Fishes Sacramento.
At the end of the tour we were contacted by the tour manager who told us the guys had saved their strings from the remainder of the tour and wanted to send them! We did a batch of guitar/bass string bracelets and were able to send $800 here here to World Vision for big items like stocking medical clinics, clean water funds (wells), women and girls in crisis support, and meals for school kids in developing nations.
In March we did another two batches of bracelets here and following the band’s lead of supporting mental health in Canada (they donated a $1 from every ticket sold – $50,000 in total) we donated $200 each to three different BC mental health and family support organizations. We also supported Union Gospel Mission for Easter meals for 55 people, and Samaritan’s Purse & Compassion International for food security, doctors kits, blankets, malaria bed nets and clean water fund.
We finished the last batch of strings this week, and donated $1215 to Union Gospel Mission that can help up to 225 people. They provide not only street outreach programs with food, shelter, and clothing, but provide live-in programs for those wanting support from substance abuse and addiction.
Because of the generosity of the band and the fans supporting this project, we were able to raise and donate $4901.00 for various charities, and affect many lives. This time out we made 166 bracelets from 89 strings and sent them everywhere, from Canada and the USA, to Austria, Czech, Wales, Norway, France and even Tasmania. All told, we’ve created 706 bracelets from Papa Roach donated strings, and raised $11,934.00 in 2016, 2018-19, and 2025-26. The fans (and the band) are amazing in wanting to give back and change the world. It’s been a renewing experience for us as well, especially this last few months, and we thank you.
