Papa Roach guitarist Jerry Horton and bassist Tobin Esperance donated strings to us at the end of their Canadian leg of the Rise of the Roach tour just before Christmas 2025, and we’re now finished the third ‘batch’, so were able to donate $1498.00 to charity on behalf of the band and fans who supported by purchasing the string bracelets.

Mental Health supports are incredibly needed in these times, and Papa Roach recently donated $1 dollar from every ticket sold on their Canadian tour to mental health – donating $50,000. just before year’s end to Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto, Ontario. We chose to support three BC based organizations who work with youth and families for mental health, and self reliance, as well as addressing the long wait lists for mental health support.

Connections Place Society in Victoria BC helps people use their skills and talents to get their life back on track. Membership is free and for life, and members can visit as often as they need to, for mental health support.

FamilySmart supports parents and caregivers of children and youth facing mental health or substance use/abuse challenges. When families are supported, children and youth do better.

Emotions BC was created to be able to support people immediately and on an ongoing basis without there being multiple barriers to face, including wait lists, unaffordable services and referrals.

We chose to send each of these three organizations $200.00

We also support Union Gospel Mission at Christmas and Easter and so sent $300.00 – enough to feed 55 people an Easter dinner in a few weeks.

We sent Samaritans Purse $378.00 and earmarked it thusly:
Emergency food for a family for one month (x2) $120
4 chickens for a family to feed and support themselves $48.
Support for emergency food delivered to Gaza $100
5 Blankets $50
4 doctors kits $60.

And finally we sent $220.00 to Compassion International for the following:
Nutritious food for families (x3) $30
Bed nets to combat malaria (x2) $40
Access to clean water fund (x3) $150

Once again we are amazed and humbled by the response of those who support this initiative, and delighted that we’ve made some new friends along the way. We really are all in this together with each other.
