We still find it quite amazing that 1) so little money can do so much good, and 2) a guitar string or three can spread to so many people!
Aaron Pritchett routinely donates his used guitar strings to us, so we always have a stock on hand. We sold a few bracelets from his strings, combined it with a Sam Roberts Band item and ended up with $67 which we sent to the Union Gospel Mission. UGM works with those in poverty in the downtown core of Vancouver and a few other major cities – low income, working poor and street people – and provide support, counselling and three times a year – dinner. Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.
With our $67 the Union Gospel Mission is able to feed 20 people a good, filling hot meal this coming Thanksgiving in a few weeks – each meal only costs a $3.29 donation!
