So excited! Our friends The Trews have been helping us help others, for many years. Bassist Jack Syperek contacted us on socials to say he’s saved a pile of strings, and since there aren’t any concerts this year due to Covid of course, could he mail them to us?
OMG YES! haha.. what a wonderful thing to do, and we were very excited to have them arrive in the mail in a large envelope. Not only did Jack send bass strings from rock shows, but he also had some very cool black vinyl coated Jazz strings, and some acoustic guitar strings from when the band has played acoustic trio shows on Instagram this year. Very cool.
We hit up The Official Trews Fans Network (fan club) and were sold out almost immediately! We even used a couple of the scraps of ends left over that were wrapped in red cotton thread (see photo) just to squeeze a few more bracelets out of the batch! Hopefully we’ll be getting some more strings from guitarist John-Angus MacDonald in the new year too, that would be really great.
Once all bracelets were done and sent, we were able to send $685 to charity on behalf of the band and fans. Thanks to all who purchased, and to The Trews for their generosity and ongoing support.
