We saw The Glorious Sons about 2 weeks ago in concert and singer Brett Emmons excitedly handed us a wonderfully snarled up mess of strings out of his pocket when he saw us! (we had asked if he would donate strings again on Twitter and he said, “of course!”) Once we sorted the strings out.. we had two. What to do what to do…. make as many bracelets as possible! So we came up with a design and cut each string into 3-4 pieces, and managed to make a few people very happy 🙂 We had one bass string left from Chris H (Mamba) and added that to the lot and thanks to Brett spreading our post on Twitter, the bracelets were gone in less than a day!
Once the dust settled and we figured out the mail out etc, we were left with $325 dollars!
Nearly every Christmas, we send a donation to the Union Gospel Mission for their Christmas outreach dinner and since we just received a reminder in the mail this week – we decided to send this donation money to them. This is especially sweet because a mere $3.29 is enough for one meal … so we are able to help Union Gospel Mission feed 99 people!
