Jerry Horton (guitarist for rock band Papa Roach) donated his stage used guitar strings to us about 4 months ago, and we’re about 3/4 of the way through the box! This is our third update on how we spent the money, via the World Vision online Gift Catalog and its a whopper!
We decided to go REALLY big! All told, we were able to spend $545.00 after expenses and decided to fund agriculture and food production.
Here’s the list:
- Agriculture packs ($35)
- Baby chicks ($20) for breeding/selling/food
- One Piglet ($40) for breeding/selling/food
- One Goat ($100) for milk production and eventual meat or breeding
- One Sheep ($150) for wool and breeding
- A share of a cow! ($200) for milk and breeding
Thanks so much to all who have and continue to support this effort – we’ve done some amazing things! we meaning all of you)
All together we’ve raised $3650.00 from something that typically gets tossed – and have been able to make a lot of fans happy with a staged used string from their favourite band/guitarist… AND we have enough strings to do one more sizeable chunk of fund raising! Christmas is coming 😉 It would be fantastic to close out this year with the rest of Jerry’s strings!
For those interested HERE is the first update and HERE is the second update.
