Sam Roberts Band auction results are in! Many thanks to everyone who bid, shared, and supported our latest guitar string auction.. we did good 🙂
We auctioned off a pile of strings from Sam Roberts himself and the results are in. We raised a whopping $380.00 and were able to purchase the following items on World Vision’s online gift catalog.
We were able to:
- educate a girl in need
- supply a classroom
- 3 soccer balls for school kids
- school feeding for 50 kids for a month
- feed a family for 30 days
- meds for 10 kids
- life saving nutrition for a child for 2 months
We saw Sam in person, August 10, and gave him a World Vision thank you card with everything listed, and he loved it, especially the 3 soccer balls, and the educating a girl in need. We had one tiny scrap of his guitar strings left, and made it into a bracelet with purple glass leaf charms which we gave to him for his lovely wife.. he loved that his strings could be turned into such good things.
Thanks so much to everyone involved and many thanks to Sam, his tour manager for saving the strings, and his manager for posting our auction on the band’s Facebook and twitter. We all did good.

100% proceeds going to World Vision – please feel free to share this image with friends ! !
Jack Syperek, bass player for The Trews donated some of his well used strings a few months ago, and we created a small selection of items that will be up for auction THIS THURSDAY, May 15, starting at 10:00 pm EST / 7pm PST and running for a full week (due to long weekend in Canada).
All proceeds from this auction will go to World Vision through their online gift catalog. You can have a look at the items below – and as soon as eBay activates the auction we’ll provide a link in our side bar! Hope some of you are lucky! 😉
We are finally auctioning off our comfort doll photo of Canadian Country superstar Johnny Reid!
We’ve had this photo for many years when we met Johnny in Nakusp and he graciously said yes to a photo op. We know a few people in Johnny’s very active fan club, The Tartan Army, and they’l be spreading the word about our auction.
Auction starts November 18th and will run 5 days. We’ll be posting links on our Facebook and Twitter accounts over the span of the auction to remind people.
100% of all proceeds from this sale will go to World Vision to help those in Philippines struggling to survive after the Typhoon.
We combined the proceeds of the Shinedown photos we auctioned, with a few odds and ends – some of the little beaded bracelets we posted/sold this week, a few left over guitar string bracelets -and ended up with $260.00 to send to World Vision!
Thanks to you guy’s generosity we were able to choose the following from the WV Gift Catalog.

*school lunches for 50 kids for a month
*supply a classroom
*educate a girl for a year
*support for an exploited girl in Thailand (rescue/recovery)
