The Glorious Sons -17 strings do a world of good

The Glorious Sons (Brett and Jay Emmons, and Chris Koster all on guitar) donated their strings to us when we saw them in concert end of June. (read here)

All told we had 17 strings, and used every last scrap! The strings were a highly sought after item for the TGS Amigos (fan club) as well as the die hard fans on Instagram and Twitter – wish we could have supplied bracelets for everyone! Maybe next time 🙂

Seventeen bracelets netted us $625.00 to use on the World Vision Canada gift catalog website and this time we wanted to go for quantity over the big ticket items. This is what we were able to accomplish:

Solar lights for homes with no electricity (x2)
Wood conserving stove
Emergency food (this gift multiples 7x in value through matched gov’t & corporate donations)
Medicine for children (x2)
Bed nets (to protect from malaria) (x2)
Nutritious school meals (x2) – multiplies 7x in value due to matching donations
School essentials (x2) -This gift multiplies 5x in value due to matching donations.
Girls Hygiene kit (x2) (many girls cannot attend school during their monthly cycle, this allows them the freedom to do so. This gift multiplies 5x in value due to matching donations)
Sports Equipment (x2) for school children
Send girls to school
Crop seeds for farmers
Piglets
Hens and Rooster
Baby chicks

Many thanks to The Glorious Sons for donating (yet again!) and to all the fans for the incredible support. We can’t do this without you all.

sorry we didn’t see your comment until now. Unfortunately we had a very limited number of Glorious Sons strings and they were literally gone the same day we posted about them. We hope to secure more in 2023 and always post on our Facebook and Instagram accounts when strings become available… we only post here after they’ve been distributed and the proceeds sent off to the various charities.
