As one of the first artists to help us many years ago, we have a definite soft spot for Canadian icon Tom Cochrane. Tom donated some of his stage-used guitar strings a year or so ago, and we’ve been selling a few here and there. We combined those with the very last of The Trews donated strings (literally 3 scraps left woven together to form a last bracelet!), a couple from Sam Roberts Band, and a few more from Papa Roach‘s Jerry Horton, and were able to send $235 to World Vision Canada for:
- hygiene kit for a girl
- medicines for 10 children
- school essentials (x2)
- support for street children
As menstruation can be a barrier to girls in some countries being able to attend school, hygiene kits (supplies and training) can ensure that those girls can continue to attend regularly and receive a solid education. This was very important to us as we found out more about the barriers to girls education.
Many thanks to all who participated in this round! Lets keep going!
