Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick donated a batch of his guitar strings to us back in January (read here if you missed it!) They sold out so fast, and we did some great things with them (read here). So many of Alex’s fans asked for a bracelet made from the strings, that Alex sent us another batch a few weeks ago .. sweet!
So far we’ve done a small batch of bracelets from the strings, and today were able to donate $145.00 to World Vision through their online gift catalog. We polled the fans on our Twitter and asked if we should spend it on clean water, or stocking a medical clinic.. and the general consensus was Clean Water.
So.. we chose that, but also put some money into Emergency Food, Bed Nets to combat malaria, and Sports Balls! (we always love adding some donation money for something fun)
We still have a ways to go on using up all of Alex’s strings, but like every batch, it comes in waves and once they’re all sent out to fans we’ll do a recap 🙂
