Dallas Smith guitar string results are in

Canadian Country artist Dallas Smith and his band donated a box of tour-used guitar and bass strings back in July of this year (here) and so we made bracelets, (and earrings), and thanks to Dallas repeating our posts on his own Instagram stories, we had a ton of people jump in to purchase items and support our charity efforts.

By the end of September things slowed down and so we polled those who supported – the overwhelming response was to ‘Go Big! with higher priced items on the World Vision Gift Catalog; things like water wells and medical clinics and community support – but to temper that with immediate relief for the terrible flooding in Pakistan which was leaving millions homeless, food insecure, and at a greater risk for waterborne diseases. We chose Humanitarian Coalition and sent $900.00 for Pakistan. Humanitarian Coalition is a joint effort between World Vision, Save the Children, Oxfam, Plan International and others. Covid interrupted us for 6 weeks but once we were back on track, we were able to send $2220.00 to World Vision Canada for the big ticket items: Our grand total, was $3,120.00!

Equip health care workers (x4) – $200
Wood Conserving stoves (x2) – $100
Emergency water & sanitation (x2) – $200

We still have a few Dallas Smith band strings left – and will try to have them all used up before Christmas. The response from fans /supporters was overwhelming and very appreciated. As long as we have people like you, and the wonderful bands and artists, willing to support us, we will keep doing this! We can’t fix every problem but we can do what we’re able. Thanks to all.
